Tony Award nominee Raul Esparza and Michael McKean will join the previously announced Ian McShane in an upcoming Broadway revival of Harold Pinter's The Homecoming, according to Variety. Directed by Daniel Sullivan and produced by Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, the play will begin previews at the Cort Theatre on November 16 and open on December 4.
A Best Play Tony winner in 1967, The Homecoming tells the story of a power struggle that ensues when the eldest son in a North London family returns home from America with his new wife. McShane plays the patriarch, with Esparza as his small-time pimp son and McKean as his chauffeur brother. The roles of the eldest son, the wife and the oafish third son have not yet been cast.
Esparza received a 2007 Tony nomination and won a Drama Desk Award for his starring role as Bobby in the revival of Company. His other Broadway credits include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Taboo, Cabaret and The Rocky Horror Show. Off-Broadway, he starred in Comedians, Tick, Tick, Boom and The Normal Heart. McKean's Broadway credits include The Pajama Game and Hairspray.
The design team for The Homecoming will include Eugene Lee sets, Kenneth Posner lights and Jess Goldstein costumes.
